CREATING A WATERCOLOR PEACOCK WITH "SPLASH" FEATHERS
STEP ONE: MAKE A SKETCH WITH COLOR PENCIL (NOT PEN BECAUSE IT WILL BLEED.)
STEP TWO: PAINT THE EYES GOLD. THIS COLOR WILL BE CALLED "YELLOW OCHER" IN MOST SETS. THE REASON WHY YOU WILL PLACE A LIGHTER COLOR DOWN FIRST IS THAT YOU MUST KEEP THIS AREA CLEAR OF DARKER COLORS. LET THE GOLDEN "EYES" DRY.
SEE THE VIDEO TO UNDERSTAND HOW TO MAKE THE EYES HERE. FIRST, PLACE WATER DOWN AND THEN LET THE YELLOW "BLEED" INTO THE WATER.
STEP THREE: MAKE "FEATHER-LIKE" STROKES WITH BLUE.
THE REST OF THIS DESIGN IN MADE WITH MORE "LAYERS" OF COLOR ON TOP OF THE BLUE. THIS IS PURPLE AND GREEN.
THE FINAL STEP IS TO "FLING" DROPLETS OF PAINT AND PLACE YOUR LAST DARKEST COLOR--BLACK--TO CREATE THE SHADOWS IN THIS PIECE.
Ohhhh. Quite simple looking and also looks easy to try out. Well maybe that's because you make everything look simple. Lol. I just hope I don't make a mess of the whole thing because my last experience with watercolor was horrible.
ReplyDeleteThis is great and really simplified. It's now my turn to get things done on my own table...Lol
